In today's environment of uncertainties everyone wants a holistic lifestyle.
But what is holistic lifestyle? And how to follow it?
In this journey to holistic living we will get inside into various steps that help us live holistically.
Holistic living is not a destination but it is a consistent journey and a path to achieve higher self. It is a science an art of living.
Generally, it is thought, that if we want ourselves to be perfectly healthy, we need to follow strict rules, but our ancient scriptures and Veda's give us simple and really easy to follow steps.
Step 1 : Social Discipline
This is a very important aspect of holistic living because when we follow social discipline, our society respects us and we feel loved and accepted.
Now, the question is what is social discipline and how to follow it?
Social discipline is based on five disciplines: -
1. Do not hurt anyone physically, mentally or emotionally.
Physical hurt is well understood by everyone, but mental and emotional hurt is often skipped or ignored.
We should not use abusive language, try not to break anyone’s trust by backbiting.
One should try to be loving and caring even to the natural and nonliving things around us, this can be done by proper maintenance and cleaning.
When you start your day, spend few minutes looking, touching plans in surroundings.
This consistent practice will help instill the social discipline gradually and also will give a feeling of freshness and happiness.
2. One should be honest with words and actions followed.
When we converse with others, it should not generate doubts, instead generate trust.
3. One should practice the feeling of "Enough" i.e. one should not envy the possessions of others, materialistic things, knowledge or ideas.
This can be practiced by giving gratitude to God about each and everything you have, everyday before going to sleep.
4. Have a minimalistic attitude
The desires are never ending, but one should be conscious about their desires.
Example to begin with : All beautiful women reading my blog should be minimalist about their collection of dresses and handbags. (jokes apart)
5. One should refrain from greediness, be at personal possessions or natural resources.
No tree is greedy about its own fruits, it shares its fruits with everyone. Be like a tree and feel happiness surrounding you.
"Holistic Living is a daily practice, you have to trust the process, good things take time, but keep going and growing each day."
